First time with H.L.H?

What to Expect:

After filling out your online forms (see link on home page) requesting to schedule with us, we will reach out to you to confirm a date that works for you, your preferred processor, and for us. Our scheduling forms ask for your preference on processors in the area, we will reach out to them for their availability to take your animals and schedule your slaughter date accordingly. We build our schedule based on a route, accurate location of service is very important. Please keep in mind scheduling requires coordination with other companies and we are a small, family owned business. We understand your needs are often time sensitive, please allow us time to make sure your appointments are scheduled for seamless slaughter and processing services. Once scheduled, expect confirmation and reminder phone calls/texts from us.

The Day of Your Appointment:

We do not need anyone present at the time of your appointment, as long as you have left detailed instructions with us. Please be sure to indicate all your preferences, requirements, and specifics you need in your scheduling forms. Payment is due at time of service.

To prepare your animal(s):

  • If possible, separate them from other livestock that is not being slaughtered.
  • If possible, don’t feed your animal the night before.
  • Ensure they are in an accessible area that we can drive our truck to. Be mindful that our truck can weigh up to 20,000 pounds.
Do my animals need to be pinned up?

Yes, in a small accessible area. If you are unable to do so then make sure they are in an area that allows for the truck to drive out to it.

Tip: make sure you have food nearby in case we need to motivate the animal to move to a more accessible spot.

Will I be charged to keep my offal (heads, hides, hoofs, innards) and hides?

Absolutely not, it’s yours to keep what you would like.

Tip: If you need any of your offal cut/wrap it will be figured in to your package with the shop. It’s always an option to leave your offal on site with you as well.

How soon in advance should I book my appointment?

The earlier the better! This allows for the most flexibility if your needs or schedule changes.

Where does the meat get delivered to?

We deliver to the processor of your choosing for cut and wrap services. Your cut and wrap package will be a decision between you and the processors, once delivered. Services with processing shops are separate and billed independently from H.L.H.
Tip: If you struggle to find a processor or don’t have a preference we would be happy to recommend companies in the area that work for your timeline and needs.

Payment Information

All payments include slaughter fee, offal (organs, waste, refused materials) disposal, and transport to processor location. Cash or check payments accepted at time of service. There will be an additional $50 fee on all returned checks.
